Part-Time Store Cashier/Stocker

About The Position

ALDI is hiring part-time cashiers and stockers to support store operations and provide an excellent customer shopping experience. Cashiers provide friendly, efficient checkout service and may complete curbside pickup orders. Stockers keep shelves and displays stocked, organized, and aligned with merchandising planograms. Employees help maintain store standards, support operational and total-loss goals, follow company policies and procedures, and contribute to a safe, clean working environment. The position averages fewer than 30 hours per week and starts at $18.50 per hour, with stated wage increases in later years.

Requirements

At least 18 years old.
Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Ability to operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
Ability to meet availability requirements.
Ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and move between areas.
Ability to lift, carry, and place products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at varying heights, including overhead.
Ability to stock products in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior work experience in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service in accordance with company principles and escalate concerns to store management as needed.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total-loss goals.
Follow established company policies and processes.
Help maintain a safe working environment by identifying and correcting hazards, using proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in proper working order.
Maintain store zoning and merchandising standards.
Follow inventory procedures and product-handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning to company standards.
Use the point-of-sale system to accurately scan and process purchases, and report scanning concerns or errors to store management.
Follow cash policies and procedures.
Follow the checkout-line policy and open additional checkout lanes as required.
Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving and verifying items and delivering them to customers’ vehicles from the staging area.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
For stocker duties, be able to arrive at work as early as 5:00 a.m.
