About The Position

ALDI is hiring part-time cashiers and stockers to support store operations and provide customers with an excellent shopping experience. Cashiers provide friendly, efficient checkout service, while stockers keep shelves stocked and organized. The position averages fewer than 30 hours per week and starts at $20.00 per hour, with listed wage increases in later years. Employees perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation. They follow customer service principles and company policies, support store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals, help maintain a safe working environment, uphold store and merchandising standards, follow inventory and product-handling procedures, and complete general cleaning tasks. Cashier duties include using the POS system to scan and process purchases accurately, following cash and checkout-lane procedures, and completing curbside pickup orders. Stocker duties include stocking shelves and displays according to merchandising planograms. Stockers must be able to arrive as early as 5:00 a.m.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old.
Provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Work independently and with others.
Organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks to maximize productivity within established timeframes.
Maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
Meet availability requirements.
Stockers must be able to arrive to work as early as 5:00 a.m.
Perform required physical activities, including pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, reaching, grasping, twisting, bending, and moving between areas.
Lift, carry, and place products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead.
Stock products in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments.
Use glass and multipurpose cleaning products.

Responsibilities

Help maintain a safe workplace by identifying and rectifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in proper working order.
Maintain store-zone and merchandising standards.
Follow inventory procedures and product-handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
Use the POS system to accurately scan and process customer purchases and report scanning concerns or errors to management.
Follow cash policies and procedures, follow the line policy, and open additional checkout lanes as required.
Retrieve, verify, and deliver curbside pickup orders to customers’ vehicles in a timely manner.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
