About The Position

ALDI is hiring part-time cashiers and stockers. Cashiers provide friendly, efficient checkout service, and stockers keep shelves stocked and organized to support a positive customer shopping experience. Both roles help maintain smooth store operations. The position averages fewer than 30 hours per week and starts at $19.50 per hour, with wage increases to $20.00 in Year 2, $20.50 in Year 3, $20.50 in Year 4, and $21.50 in Year 5. Employees must be able to perform the duties with or without reasonable accommodation. Stockers must be able to arrive as early as 5:00 a.m. The role involves varied physical activities, lifting products weighing up to 45 pounds, using store equipment and cleaning products, and stocking products in freezer and cooler environments.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old.
Provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Work independently and with others.
Organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
Maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
Meet availability requirements.
Be able to push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and move between areas.
Be able to lift, carry, and place products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at varying heights, including overhead.
Be able to stock products in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments.
Be able to use glass and multipurpose cleaning products.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Model and fulfill customer service principles, escalating concerns to store management as needed.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
Comply with established company policies and processes.
Help maintain a safe working environment by identifying and addressing hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in proper working order.
Maintain store zoning and merchandising standards.
Follow inventory procedures and product handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
Use the point-of-sale system to accurately scan and process customer purchases, and report scanning concerns or errors to store management.
Follow cash policies and procedures.
Follow the checkout line policy and open additional checkout lanes as required.
Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving and verifying items and delivering orders to customers’ vehicles in a timely manner.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
