About The Position

ALDI is hiring part-time cashiers and stockers. Cashiers provide friendly, efficient checkout service, while stockers keep shelves stocked and organized. Both roles contribute to smooth store operations and a positive customer shopping experience. The position averages fewer than 30 hours per week and starts at $18.50 per hour, with stated wage increases in Years 2 through 5. Employees must perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation. Stockers must be able to arrive at work as early as 5:00 a.m. The role requires physical activity, handling products weighing up to 45 pounds, operating store equipment, and stocking products in freezer and cooler environments.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Ability to operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
Ability to meet availability requirements.
Ability to push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and move between areas.
Ability to lift, carry, and place products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead.
Ability to stock products in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments.
Ability to use glass and multipurpose cleaning products.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Model and fulfill customer service principles and escalate concerns to store management as necessary.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
Comply with established company policies and processes.
Help maintain a safe working environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in proper working order.
Maintain store zoning and merchandising standards.
Follow inventory procedures and product handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
Cashier: Use the point-of-sale system to accurately scan and process purchases, and inform management of scanning concerns or errors.
Cashier: Follow cash policies and procedures.
Cashier: Follow the line policy and open additional checkout lanes as required.
Cashier: Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving items, verifying order contents, and delivering them promptly to customers’ vehicles from the staging area.
Stocker: Neatly stock shelves and displays according to merchandising planograms.
Stocker: Be able to arrive to work as early as 5:00 a.m.
