About The Position

TravelCenters of America offers customers a one-stop shopping experience with name-brand products, Grab ‘N Go foods, groceries, snacks, electronics, maintenance supplies, clothing, and gifts. The Cashier II is a key member of the store team, primarily responsible for providing excellent customer service so that travelers are returning to the road better than they came. The role includes processing customer transactions, maintaining food and beverage areas, assisting with merchandise receiving and stocking, and helping train lower-level cashiers. Team members work in a service-focused environment and follow safety guidelines while prioritizing work according to store and management needs.

Requirements

• Computer and POS knowledge required.
• Cash handling skills required.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Two or more years of cashier experience preferred.
• Merchandising or stocking experience preferred.
• A dedicated individual who works well with others and is excited to be part of the team.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers courteously, quickly, and efficiently with a sincere, positive, pleasant, and enthusiastic attitude.
• Process customer transactions on a point-of-sale (POS) register.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked food and beverage area.
• Assist with receiving products and unloading them.
• Stock and organize merchandise on planograms.
• Assist with training lower-level cashiers on job duties and responsibilities.
• Prioritize work according to store and management needs.
• Follow safety guidelines and report potentially unsafe situations caused by team members or customers.
• Establish strong communication and rapport with leaders and co-workers.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
