About The Position

The Store Cashier I is a key member of the store team, primarily responsible for providing excellent customer service to guests at TravelCenters of America. The store offers a one-stop shopping experience with name-brand products, Grab ‘N Go foods, groceries, snacks, electronics, maintenance supplies, clothing, and gifts. The cashier serves customers, processes transactions, and helps maintain the store and its food and beverage areas. The role is performed in a trusting, customer-service-focused environment, with duties prioritized according to store and management needs. The employee may also be assigned other job-related duties. The position pays $16.00–$18.00 per hour, depending on factors such as responsibilities, requirements, relevant experience, and skills.

Requirements

Good verbal communication skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Nice To Haves

Basic computer/POS knowledge preferred.
Cash handling skills preferred.

Responsibilities

Serve each customer courteously, quickly, and efficiently with a sincere, positive, pleasant, and enthusiastic attitude.
Process customer transactions on a point-of-sale (POS) register.
Maintain a clean, well-stocked food and beverage area.
Clean and stock merchandise.
Prioritize work according to store and management needs.
Follow safety guidelines and report potentially unsafe situations caused by team members or customers.
Establish strong communication and rapport with leaders and co-workers.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
