About The Position

The Store Associate is responsible for merchandising and stocking products, operating the checkout, cleaning, and supporting a strong customer shopping experience through teamwork and exceptional customer service. The role includes completing curbside pickup orders, maintaining store and merchandising standards, following company policies and inventory procedures, and helping store management achieve operational efficiency and loss goals. Associates also help maintain a safe work environment by identifying hazards, using proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in working order. This is a full-time position averaging 30 or more hours per week. The starting wage is $20.00 per hour, with stated wage increases in years 2 through 5: $20.50, $21.00, $21.00, and $22.00 per hour, respectively. Duties must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old.
Provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Work independently and with others.
Organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks to maximize productivity within established timeframes.
Maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
Meet availability requirements.
Perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

Prior work experience in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

Model and fulfill customer service principles, escalating concerns to store management as necessary.
Inform store management about losses from outdated or damaged products.
Use the point-of-sale system to scan and process purchases accurately and report scanning concerns or errors.
Follow cash policies and procedures.
Follow the checkout line policy and open additional lanes as needed.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving and verifying items and delivering them promptly to customers’ vehicles from the staging area.
Maintain zone and merchandising standards.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
Comply with company policies and processes.
Help maintain a safe work environment by identifying and correcting hazards, using proper ergonomics, and maintaining equipment.
Follow inventory procedures and product handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
