About The Position

The Store Associate is responsible for merchandising and stocking products, cashiering, cleaning, and supporting a strong customer shopping experience through teamwork and exceptional service. This is a full-time position averaging 30 or more hours per week, with a starting wage of $19.00 per hour. Wage rates listed are $19.50 in year two, $20.00 in year three, $20.00 in year four, and $21.00 in year five. The role includes assisting with curbside pickup, maintaining store and merchandising standards, helping store management meet operational efficiency and loss goals, following company policies and inventory procedures, and contributing to a safe working environment. Physical duties include moving and positioning products weighing up to 45 pounds, operating store equipment, stocking in freezer and cooler environments, and using cleaning products.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old.
Provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Interpret and apply operating policies and procedures.
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Work independently and with others.
Organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
Maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
Meet availability requirements.
Perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and move between areas.
Lift, carry, and place products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead.
Stock products in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments.
Use glass and multipurpose cleaning products.

Nice To Haves

Prior work experience in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service, fulfill customer service principles, and escalate concerns to store management when necessary.
Inform store management about loss due to outdated or damaged products.
Use the point-of-sale system to scan and process purchases accurately, and report scanning concerns or errors.
Follow cash policies and procedures.
Follow the checkout line policy and open additional checkout lanes as required.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving and verifying items and delivering orders to customers’ vehicles in a timely manner.
Maintain zone and merchandising standards.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
Comply with company policies and processes.
Help maintain a safe working environment by identifying and addressing hazards, using proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in proper working order.
Follow inventory procedures and product handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
