About The Position

The Store Associate is responsible for merchandising and stocking products, operating the register, and cleaning to maintain store standards. The role supports a positive customer shopping experience through teamwork and exceptional customer service. This is a full-time position averaging 30 or more hours per week, with a starting wage of $20.00 per hour. Wage rates increase to $20.50 in Year 2, $21.00 in Year 3, remain $21.00 in Year 4, and rise to $22.00 in Year 5. The associate assists with checkout, shelf stocking, merchandising, curbside pickup, inventory and product handling, store cleanliness, and operational goals. The position involves physical activity, lifting products weighing up to 45 pounds, operating store equipment, and stocking products in freezer and cooler environments. Duties may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

At least 18 years old.
Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Ability to operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Ability to interpret and apply company operating policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
Ability to meet availability requirements.

Nice To Haves

Prior work experience in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service in accordance with company principles and escalate concerns to store management as needed.
Inform store management about loss caused by outdated or damaged products.
Use the point-of-sale system to accurately scan and process purchases, and report scanning concerns or errors to store management.
Follow cash policies and procedures.
Follow the checkout line policy and open additional lanes as required.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving and verifying items and delivering orders to customers’ vehicles in a timely manner.
Maintain zone and merchandising standards.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
Comply with company policies and processes.
Help maintain a safe work environment by identifying and correcting hazards, using proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in proper working order.
Follow inventory procedures and product handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
