About The Position

As a store associate, you’ll be responsible for merchandising and stocking product, cashiering, and cleaning to keep the store looking its best. You’ll enhance the customer shopping experience by working collaboratively with the ALDI team and providing exceptional customer service. This is a full-time position averaging 30 or more hours per week, with a starting wage of $18.50 per hour and scheduled wage increases through year five.

Requirements

At least 18 years old.
Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Ability to operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks to maximize productivity within established timeframes.
Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
Ability to meet availability requirements.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior work experience in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

Model and fulfill customer service principles and escalate concerns to store management as necessary.
Inform store management of loss due to outdated or damaged products.
Use the point-of-sale (POS) system to scan and process customer purchases accurately, and report scanning concerns or errors to store management.
Follow cash policies and procedures.
Follow the line policy and open additional checkout lanes as required to maintain efficient checkout.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms to maximize sales.
Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving items accurately, verifying order contents, and delivering orders promptly to customers’ vehicles from the staging area.
Maintain zone and merchandising standards.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
Comply with established company policies and processes.
Help maintain a safe working environment by identifying and correcting hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in proper working order.
Follow inventory procedures and product handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
