About The Position

The Retail Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, independently and as part of a team, to support customers and store operations. The role provides welcoming, compassionate service, helps customers locate products, performs cashier duties, maintains the sales floor and inventory, and supports store opening and closing activities when needed. Associates may provide support to photo, beauty, and other departments, and assist pharmacy personnel, including by working shifts in the pharmacy as opportunities arise. The position also promotes CVS services and loyalty programs that support customers’ health needs. The role requires being at least 16 years old. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required. Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred. Physical demands include remaining upright for sustained periods, lifting and exerting force as described in the posting, and close visual acuity for tasks such as viewing a computer terminal and inspecting small details.

Requirements

At least 16 years of age.
Remain upright on the feet for sustained periods.
Lift and exert up to 35 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 10 lbs. frequently, and a negligible amount regularly, including overhead lifting.
Have close visual acuity for activities such as viewing a computer terminal, reading, and visually inspecting small parts or details.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Provide differentiated customer service by anticipating customer needs, demonstrating compassion and care, and identifying and resolving potential service issues.
Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and offer help locating items when needed.
Perform cashier duties accurately, handling cash, checks, and credit card transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Maintain the sales floor by restocking shelves, checking in vendors, updating pricing information, and completing inventory management tasks as directed by the store manager.
Support store opening and closing activities when needed.
Support all departments, including photo and beauty, by helping ensure they are stocked and operational and staying current with updated services and tools.
Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular shifts in the pharmacy as part of growth and career development opportunities.
Advocate for CVS services and loyalty programs.
