About The Position

Retail Store Associates at CVS Health support customers in a customer-focused retail setting, working independently and as part of a team. The role contributes to CVS Health’s goal of making health care more connected, convenient, and compassionate, and provides opportunities to support customers’ health care needs and develop their careers.

Associates provide customer service, operate the register, maintain the sales floor, support store operations, and assist other departments, including the pharmacy when needed. The position is part-time, with 28 anticipated weekly hours. Required availability is 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Thursday through Sunday, with every weekend required and shift times not flexible.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Must be able to remain upright on the feet for sustained periods.
• Must be able to lift and exert up to 35 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently, and exert a negligible amount of force regularly, including for overhead lifting.
• Must have close visual acuity for tasks such as viewing a computer terminal, reading, and visually inspecting small parts or details.
• Must be available to work 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Thursday through Sunday; shift times are not flexible and every weekend is required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate customer needs, demonstrate compassion and care, and identify and resolve potential service issues.
• Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and offer help locating items.
• Perform cashier duties, handling cash, checks, and credit card transactions accurately and according to company policies and procedures.
• Maintain the sales floor by restocking shelves, checking in vendors, updating pricing information, and completing inventory tasks as directed by the store manager.
• Support store opening and closing activities when needed.
• Support all departments, including photo and beauty, by ensuring they are stocked and operational and by staying current with updated services and tools.
• Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular pharmacy shifts as an opportunity for growth and career development.
• Promote CVS services and loyalty programs that support customers on their path to better health.
