About The Position

As a store associate, you’ll merchandise and stock products, operate the checkout, and clean to keep the store looking its best. You’ll help enhance the customer shopping experience by working collaboratively with the ALDI team and providing exceptional customer service. This is a full-time position averaging 30 or more hours per week, with a starting wage of $20.00 per hour. Wage increases are listed as Year 2: $20.50, Year 3: $21.00, Year 4: $21.00, and Year 5: $22.00. Duties must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation. The role includes customer service, cashiering, stocking and merchandising, curbside order fulfillment, maintaining store standards, supporting operational and loss goals, following company policies and inventory procedures, maintaining a safe work environment, and cleaning.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Ability to operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
Ability to meet availability requirements.
Ability to perform the duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior work experience in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

Model and fulfill customer service principles, escalating concerns to store management as necessary.
Inform store management about loss due to outdated or damaged products.
Use the point-of-sale system to accurately scan and process purchases and report scanning concerns or errors to store management.
Follow cash policies and procedures.
Follow the line policy and open additional checkout lanes as needed to support efficient checkout.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms to maximize sales.
Fulfill curbside pickup orders by retrieving and verifying items and delivering orders promptly to customers’ vehicles from the staging area.
Maintain zone and merchandising standards.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency goals.
Assist store management in achieving total loss goals.
Comply with company policies and processes.
Support a safe work environment by identifying and correcting hazards, using proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in proper working order.
Follow inventory procedures and product handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
