Full-Time Store Associate

About The Position

The Store Associate is responsible for merchandising and stocking products, operating the point-of-sale system, cashiering, cleaning, and providing exceptional customer service. The role supports store operations by maintaining merchandising and zone standards, assisting with curbside pickup orders, following inventory and product-handling procedures, and helping store management meet operational efficiency and loss goals. Associates also contribute to a safe work environment by identifying hazards, following ergonomic practices, and keeping equipment in proper working order. This is a full-time position averaging 30 or more hours per week. The starting wage is $19.00 per hour, with stated increases to $19.50 in Year 2, $20.00 in Year 3, $20.00 in Year 4, and $21.00 in Year 5. Duties must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

At least 18 years old.
Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Ability to operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
Ability to meet availability requirements.
Ability to perform required physical tasks, including lifting, carrying, and placing products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead.
Ability to work with products in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior work experience in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service according to company principles and escalate concerns to store management as necessary.
Inform store management about losses caused by outdated or damaged products.
Use the point-of-sale system to accurately scan and process purchases, and report scanning concerns or errors to store management.
Follow cash policies and procedures.
Follow the checkout line policy and open additional checkout lanes as needed.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving and verifying items and delivering orders to customers’ vehicles from the staging area.
Maintain zone and merchandising standards.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
Comply with company policies and processes.
Help maintain a safe working environment by identifying and correcting hazards, using proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in working order.
Follow inventory procedures and product-handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
