Full-Time Store Associate

About The Position

The Store Associate is responsible for merchandising and stocking products, cashiering, and cleaning to maintain the store. The role supports a positive customer shopping experience by collaborating with the ALDI team and providing exceptional customer service. This is a full-time position averaging 30+ hours per week, with a starting wage of $20.00 per hour. Wage increases are listed as $20.50 in Year 2, $21.00 in Year 3, $21.00 in Year 4, and $22.00 in Year 5. The associate performs duties with or without reasonable accommodation. The role includes operating checkout and store equipment, completing curbside pickup orders, maintaining merchandising and inventory standards, supporting store safety and operational goals, and completing general cleaning tasks. The job involves physical activity, lifting products weighing up to 45 pounds, and stocking in freezer and cooler environments.

Requirements

At least 18 years old.
Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Ability to operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
Ability to meet availability requirements.
Ability to push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and move between areas.
Ability to lift, carry, and place products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at varying heights, including overhead.
Ability to stock products in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments.
Ability to use glass and multipurpose cleaning products.

Nice To Haves

Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service, follow customer service principles, and escalate concerns to store management as necessary.
Inform store management of loss due to outdated or damaged products.
Use the point-of-sale system to scan and process purchases accurately and report scanning concerns or errors to store management.
Follow cash policies and procedures.
Follow the line policy and open additional checkout lanes as needed.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving and verifying items and delivering them promptly to customers’ vehicles from the staging area.
Maintain zone and merchandising standards.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
Comply with established company policies and processes.
Help maintain a safe working environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in proper working order.
Follow inventory procedures and product handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
