About The Position

The Store Associate is responsible for merchandising and stocking products, cashiering, and cleaning to keep the store looking its best. The role supports a positive customer shopping experience by collaborating with the ALDI team and providing exceptional customer service. This is a full-time position averaging 30 or more hours per week, with a starting wage of $19.00 per hour and scheduled wage increases: $19.50 in Year 2, $20.00 in Year 3, $20.00 in Year 4, and $21.00 in Year 5. The position requires performing duties with or without reasonable accommodation. Store Associates handle customer purchases and cash procedures, stock and merchandise products, complete curbside pickup orders, support store management's operational and loss goals, follow company procedures, help maintain a safe working environment, and perform general cleaning tasks. Candidates must be at least 18 years old. A high school diploma or equivalent and prior retail work experience are preferred.

Requirements

At least 18 years old.
Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Ability to operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
Ability to meet availability requirements.
Ability to perform the stated physical demands, including lifting and handling products weighing up to 45 pounds and working in freezer and cooler environments.

Responsibilities

Model and fulfill customer service principles and escalate concerns to store management as necessary.
Inform store management of losses due to outdated or damaged products.
Use the point-of-sale system to accurately scan and process purchases, and report scanning concerns or errors to store management.
Adhere to cash policies and procedures.
Follow the line policy and open additional checkout lanes as required.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving and verifying items and delivering them promptly to customers' vehicles from the staging area.
Maintain zone and merchandising standards.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
Comply with established company policies and processes.
Help provide a safe working environment by identifying and addressing hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in proper working order.
Follow inventory procedures and product handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
