About The Position

As a Store Associate, you are responsible for merchandising and stocking products, cashiering, and cleaning to keep the store looking its best. You enhance the customer shopping experience by collaborating with the ALDI team and providing exceptional customer service. The position is full-time, averages 30 or more hours per week, and starts at $19.50 per hour. Wage increases are listed as $20.00 in Year 2, $20.50 in Year 3, $20.50 in Year 4, and $21.50 in Year 5. Duties must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation. The role includes customer service, cashiering, stocking and merchandising, completing curbside pickup orders, maintaining store standards, supporting operational and loss goals, following company policies and inventory procedures, helping maintain a safe workplace, and performing general cleaning.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old.
Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Ability to operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks to maximize productivity within established timeframes.
Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
Ability to meet availability requirements.
Ability to push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and move between areas.
Ability to lift, carry, and place products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead.
Ability to stock products in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments.

Nice To Haves

Prior work experience in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

Model and fulfill customer service principles and escalate concerns to store management as necessary.
Inform store management of loss due to outdated or damaged products.
Use the point-of-sale system to accurately scan and process customer purchases and report scanning concerns or errors to store management.
Adhere to cash policies and procedures.
Follow the line policy and open additional checkout lanes as required to support efficient checkout.
Stock shelves and displays neatly in accordance with merchandising planograms to maximize sales.
Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving items accurately, verifying order contents, and delivering orders promptly to customers’ vehicles from the staging area.
Maintain zone and merchandising standards.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
Comply with established company policies and processes.
Help maintain a safe working environment by identifying and correcting hazards, using proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in proper working order.
Follow inventory procedures and product handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
