About The Position

Retail Store Associates work in a customer-focused retail setting, independently and as part of a team, to support customers’ needs and contribute to CVS Health’s purpose of helping people on their path to better health. The role provides customer service, performs cashier duties, maintains the sales floor and inventory, supports store opening and closing activities, and helps keep departments—including photo and beauty—stocked and operational. Associates may also assist pharmacy personnel and work regular shifts in the pharmacy as an opportunity for growth and career development. This is a part-time position with 24 anticipated weekly hours.

Requirements

• At least 16 years of age.
• Ability to remain upright on the feet for sustained periods.
• Ability to lift and exert up to 35 pounds occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, and a negligible amount of force regularly, including overhead lifting.
• Close visual acuity for tasks such as viewing a computer terminal, reading, and inspecting small parts or details.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate customer needs, demonstrate compassion and care, and identify and resolve potential service issues.
• Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and offer assistance locating items.
• Accurately handle cash, checks, and credit card transactions while following company policies and procedures.
• Maintain the sales floor by restocking shelves, checking in vendors, updating pricing information, and completing inventory tasks as directed by the store manager.
• Support store opening and closing activities when needed.
• Support all departments, including photo and beauty, by helping ensure they are stocked and operational and staying current with updated services and tools.
• Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular pharmacy shifts as part of growth and career-development opportunities.
• Promote CVS services and loyalty programs.
