About The Position

ALDI is hiring part-time store associates, cashiers, and stockers. Store associates perform both cashier and stocker responsibilities. Cashiers provide friendly, efficient checkout service and may complete curbside pickup orders. Stockers keep shelves and displays stocked and organized, following merchandising plans. All roles contribute to smooth store operations and a positive customer shopping experience through customer service, merchandising, cleaning, and adherence to company procedures. The position averages fewer than 30 hours per week and starts at $18.50 per hour, with stated wage increases in later years.

Requirements

At least 18 years old.
Provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Work independently and with others.
Organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks productively within established timeframes.
Maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
Meet availability requirements.
Perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and move between areas.
Lift, carry, and place products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at varying heights, including overhead.
Stock products in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments.
Use glass and multipurpose cleaning products.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Model and fulfill customer service principles, escalating concerns to store management as necessary.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
Comply with established company policies and processes.
Support a safe working environment by identifying and correcting hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in proper working order.
Maintain store zone and merchandising standards.
Follow inventory procedures and product handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
Use the point-of-sale system to scan and process purchases accurately, reporting scanning concerns or errors to store management.
Follow cash policies and procedures.
Follow the checkout line policy and open additional check lanes as needed.
Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving and verifying items and delivering orders promptly to customers’ vehicles from the staging area.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
Arrive as early as 5:00 a.m. when working as a stocker.
