About The Position

As a Stocker at Hy-Vee, you help keep store shelves full, organized, and ready for customers throughout the day. The role includes unloading trucks, rotating products, assisting customers, and keeping the store tidy, supporting a positive shopping experience. Prior experience is not required; training and support are provided.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and percentages.
Clear, friendly communication with customers and teammates.
Ability to stay organized and keep up with the pace of a busy store environment.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen is required for employment.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding service throughout the store.
Help customers find and reach products, carry heavy purchases, and pass feedback or requests to the team.
Unload trucks, open containers, stock shelves, run overstock on risers, and rotate products to ensure freshness.
Monitor for mis-picked items, product outs, and incorrect deliveries, and report issues.
Organize stock efficiently and clean and restock damaged items.
Tag shelves with overstock in the back room and understock drawers.
Report new or different items to the scanning coordinator for system input.
Operate the register for customer purchases as needed.
Stock cigarettes, front-end sacks, and department supplies.
Assist with outside maintenance, including shoveling snow, spreading ice melt, and returning carts.
Clean throughout the store, including registers, restrooms, the breakroom, and the backroom.
Train new stockers on job duties as needed.
Follow Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and company policies.
Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed.
