Stocker/Load Builder - Big Bear Hardware (Part Time)
About The Position
Big Bear Hardware, a Nation’s Best Holdings, LLC company, is seeking a part-time Stocker/Load Builder for its La Vernia, Texas location. The position supports customers by helping them find products, offering recommendations, and loading purchases. It also involves preparing and safely loading materials for delivery, organizing the yard, assisting with deliveries and unloading, operating forklifts or company vehicles, supporting customer service in other areas, and helping maintain accurate inventory. The role requires following safety procedures, keeping the work area clean, learning about products and safety rules, and performing other tasks assigned by management. The work is hands-on and team-oriented, in a fast-paced hardware and building-materials environment that may involve outdoor conditions and varying temperatures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong communication skills for interacting effectively with customers and co-workers.
- Willingness and ability to lift, climb, reach, twist, and bend, and to lift up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed.
- Results-driven attitude and commitment to great customer service.
- Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to work hard as part of a team.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience with construction or building materials is helpful but not required.
- Forklift experience; one or more years is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Help customers find products, offer recommendations, and load purchases into vehicles.
- Check materials to ensure they are ready for quick and accurate deliveries.
- Safely load materials and pack items correctly for transport.
- Keep the yard organized and products easy to locate.
- Assist with deliveries, operate forklifts or company vehicles, and unload products.
- Attend training and learn about products and safety rules.
- Help with customer service in other areas as needed.
- Follow safety rules and keep the work area clean.
- Assist with inventory counts to help maintain accurate stock levels.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
