About The Position
This is a stipend position for a Special Education Teacher at the Early Learning Center (ELC) for the Summer 2026 program. The role involves teaching students using the Early Childhood Model of Instruction, planning daily lessons, following Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs), recording attendance, managing program opening and closing, adhering to emergency procedures and school policies, completing necessary paperwork, and communicating with families. The position reports to Malik Howshan, Officer of Innovation, Access and Opportunity & Program Supervisor.
Requirements
- Current Special Education teacher
- Classroom Teacher
- Instructional Coach
- Teacher with certification in Special Education: PK-2, K-3
Responsibilities
- Teach students utilizing Early Childhood Model of Instruction
- Plan daily lessons to meet the needs of all students
- Follow all IEP’s (Individualized Educational Plans)
- Record daily attendance
- Ensure appropriate opening and closing of daily program
- Follow emergency procedures
- Follow school policies and procedures
- Complete paperwork as needed
- Communicate with families
- Perform other duties assigned by administrator or summer site supervisor
