About The Position

The PHO - Stewarding Manager plays a critical leadership role overseeing stewarding operations in a hospitality or food service environment. The position ensures kitchen and dining areas meet high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety, supporting guest satisfaction and operational efficiency. The manager leads stewarding staff, coordinates workflows, and implements cleaning schedules and procedures. They work closely with culinary and service teams to support kitchen operations and compliance with health regulations, while maintaining the establishment’s reputation for excellence and operational integrity.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience in stewarding or kitchen operations, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of sanitation standards, health and safety regulations, and kitchen equipment maintenance.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree or certification in hospitality management or a related field.
• Experience working in a large-scale or high-volume food service operation.
• Familiarity with inventory management software and scheduling tools.
• Food safety or sanitation certification, such as ServSafe.
• Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements and cost control measures.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and supervise the stewarding team to ensure efficient cleaning and sanitation of kitchen equipment, utensils, and dining areas.
• Develop and implement cleaning schedules, safety protocols, and inventory management for stewarding supplies and equipment.
• Coordinate with culinary and service departments to support smooth kitchen operations and timely turnover of clean equipment and dishware.
• Monitor compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards, conduct regular inspections, and address issues promptly.
• Manage stewarding budgets, control costs, and maintain accurate records of supplies, equipment maintenance, and staff performance.
