About The Position

The Steward maintains kitchen, food preparation, equipment, utensil, and food storage areas in clean and sanitary condition, following OSHA and ServSafe standards. The role includes removing trash, operating cleaning equipment and dishwashers, cleaning floors and surfaces, transporting supplies, and stocking serving stations. The Steward also maintains safe working practices, reports to work in an appropriate uniform with good personal hygiene, and contributes to positive guest and team-member interactions.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Able to communicate with customers and fellow employees.
• Understanding of OSHA rules and regulations as required.
• Able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in a clean and sanitary manner in accordance with OSHA and ServSafe standards.
• Remove garbage and trash and place refuse in the designated pickup area.
• Operate mechanical cleaning devices, including scrubbers and dishwashers.
• Follow cleanliness and sanitation standards established by ServSafe.
• Clean kitchen and food storage areas, including steam-cleaning mats and walking surfaces and washing walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
• Carry or transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas, using a hand truck when needed.
• Stock serving stations with utensils.
• Maintain safe working conditions and practices in the kitchen and eating area.
• Report to work presentably in the appropriate uniform and maintain good personal hygiene.
• Promote a positive guest experience through welcoming and courteous guest interactions.
• Deal with customers and fellow team members in a friendly, helpful, and courteous manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
