About The Position

The Steward works in the kitchen area, operating dishwashing machines and cleaning china, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and other utensils used in food and beverage areas. The role also cleans kitchen areas, including sweeping and mopping floors, removing trash, and wiping down counter surfaces. The position supports sanitation, cleanliness, and food-service operations at OKANA Resort & Indoor Water Park.

Requirements

Previous experience in stewarding.
Conversational English.
Ability to stand for 7–8 hours per shift.
Ability to perform the physical demands described, including frequent standing, walking, crouching, stooping, climbing, reaching, handling items, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying.
Follow sanitation, safety, security, and food-handling procedures; maintain sanitary personal hygiene.
Wear safety shoes and use proper safety guards and lifting techniques.

Responsibilities

Operate and monitor dishwashing machines; clean and organize china, glassware, silverware, utensils, pots, and pans.
Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and keep assigned work areas clean and organized.
Empty and wash garbage cans; remove trash; sweep and mop kitchen areas and walk-in refrigerators.
Maintain proper storage of dish dollies, glass racks, flatware, and other supplies; cover plate dollies and return carts to storage.
Store plates on hot and cold lines for cooks.
Assist with dish setup for banquets and setup of lunch and happy-hour buffets.
Provide chemicals and supplies for the station and follow proper sanitation and food-handling procedures.
Polish silver and copper.
Report unsafe conditions immediately and follow safety, security, and emergency procedures.
Attend mandatory meetings and complete other duties assigned by the supervisor, including cross-training.
