About The Position

The Steward assists the Stewarding Supervisor and restaurant outlets with cleaning and organizing food and beverage outlets. The role involves sorting and washing soiled ware, maintaining dishwashing equipment, polishing silverware, and cleaning cookware so that kitchen staff can carry out their work. Physical strength and stamina are essential due to the position’s high activity level. The role also requires regular attendance and performing other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Knowledge of service ware and how to maintain it to complement the guest experience.
Ability to push or pull service carts weighing up to 150 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to transport heavy objects through a crowded room, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to grasp, lift, carry, move, or push goods on a hand cart or truck weighing up to 200 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to adapt communication style to different audiences, including supervisors, coworkers, and the public.

Responsibilities

Promptly and carefully sort soiled ware for proper processing through the dish or pot machine.
Wash ware and return it to designated storage areas.
Keep the dish machine clean and filled with water according to hotel standards.
Operate the burnishing machine to finish silverware properly.
De-tarnish and polish silver for proper appearance.
Clean kettles, tilt skillets, pots, and pans promptly and thoroughly so cooks can perform their work.
Comply with attendance rules and be available to work regularly.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
