About The Position
In this highly technical, fast-paced, and rewarding position, the Sterile Processing Tech collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to support patient care. The role receives, fills, and delivers supply orders; processes and sterilizes instrument trays; cleans and inspects patient equipment; and gathers instruments and supplies for surgical case carts. The position operates equipment and some computer systems, inventories and restocks departmental supplies, and manages special carts. The role is at Methodist Richardson Medical Center, a 443-bed, full-service acute care hospital serving Richardson, Garland, Plano, and surrounding areas in Dallas and Collin counties. The hospital is a Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center and provides additional services at its Campus for Continuing Care, including behavioral health and addiction recovery, inpatient rehabilitation, and long-term acute care.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved Sterile Processing Technician program.
- Certification by IAHCSMM or CBSPD.
Nice To Haves
- Two years of direct instrumentation experience is preferred.
