About The Position

Proctors Calculus Readiness Assessment at the beginning of the semester (Fall and/or Spring). This role focuses on developing critical thinking/problem-solving, oral/written communication, teamwork/collaboration, digital technology proficiency, leadership, professionalism/work ethic, career management, and global/intercultural fluency through interactions with students and use of various systems.

Responsibilities

  • Proctor the Calculus Readiness Assessment at the beginning of the semester (Fall and/or Spring).
  • Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills by breaking down complex concepts for students.
  • Clearly explain complex ideas and concepts to students, coworkers, and management.
  • Potentially speak to classes, reach out to students, and represent the STEM Center at functions or events.
  • Send emails, make phone calls, or initiate other communication on behalf of the STEM Center.
  • Facilitate or assist with group study sessions and participate in other projects or initiatives to support the STEM Center.
  • Create online resources, utilizing software or apps to visualize concepts.
  • Make extensive use of scheduling systems, MS Teams, and other software to perform essential job functions.
  • Work with a variety of students, identifying and addressing complex problems, and navigating ambiguity.
  • Be punctual, prepared, and professional in interactions with students.
  • Adhere to ethical guidelines and respect the confidentiality of students.
  • Build success in others and teach or train others.
  • Work with a diverse slate of students, learning, understanding, and adapting to academic and nonacademic facets of culture and communication.
