About The Position
We are seeking a passionate and engaging STEAM After School Instructor to lead a Robotics program for 3rd graders. This role involves teaching students aged 8-9 during after-school hours, focusing on hands-on learning and fostering an interest in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.
Requirements
- Experience working with children, preferably in an educational or camp setting.
- Knowledge of STEAM concepts, particularly in Robotics.
- Ability to create and deliver engaging lesson plans.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Must be available on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 3:15 PM to 4:15 PM.
- Must be available from November 23rd to November 25th.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with specific robotics platforms (e.g., LEGO Mindstorms, VEX).
- Background in education or a related STEAM field.
- Experience in curriculum development.
Responsibilities
- Instructing 3rd-grade students in a Robotics program.
- Developing and implementing engaging lesson plans.
- Managing classroom activities and ensuring a safe learning environment.
- Providing feedback to students on their progress.
- Communicating with program coordinators regarding class activities and student performance.
