STEAM Instructor - After-School Enrichment Courses
About The Position
Brains & Motion Education (BAM!) provides year-round enrichment programs in schools and communities, including STEM, arts, and sports programs. Its programs are designed to help students explore interests and develop skills in a safe, engaging environment. The STEAM Instructor leads activities such as robotics and sculpting, teaches activity fundamentals at different skill levels, and helps students progress at their own pace. The instructor fosters creativity, teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth among students in grades K–8. The position is part-time, pays $32.00 per hour, and has scheduled classes on Mondays and Tuesdays in Santa Monica, California. The stated start date is January 4, 2027.
Requirements
- 1–2 years of experience in robotics, sculpting, or related subject areas.
- Passion for sharing subject-matter expertise with youth.
- Genuine enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring.
- Ability to work effectively with students in grades K–8 and strong class management skills.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license or State ID.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Willingness to undergo additional training as required.
- Ability to lift and carry approximately 20–50 lbs. occasionally, with or without accommodations.

- Coaching or teaching experience is highly encouraged.
Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire students in a variety of STEAM-related activities.
- Teach the fundamentals of activities at basic through advanced levels, supporting each child's progress at their own pace.
- Foster a positive, collaborative environment and teach teamwork and sportsmanship.
- Implement BAM! STEAM programs, including robotics and sculpting.
