About The Position

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Broiler Cook for its Double Cut Steakhouse. The role supports and assists the Restaurant Chef in overseeing restaurant and room service kitchen operations. The cook prepares high-quality steakhouse cuisine in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and prepares grilled and broiled menu items to order, ensuring they are cooked to perfection and presented with quality and consistency. As part of the leadership team, the cook guides, supports, and inspires associates while contributing to extraordinary guest experiences and upholding Kalahari’s Promise to Lead with Love.

Requirements

3–5 years of broiler or steakhouse experience, preferably in a high-end restaurant, resort, or upscale dining environment.
Strong knowledge of steak temperatures, broiler management, seasoning, and proper resting techniques.
A state- or locally required certificate upon completion of state-certified proper food-handling certification, if required by law.
Self-motivation, organization, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety.
Ability to communicate, read, write, and speak English effectively.

Responsibilities

Set up the broiler.
Broil and grill all menu meats when ordered.
Prepare sauces and accompanying garnishes for broiled and grilled menu items.
Requisition supplies needed to broil meats.
Cover, date, and neatly store meats, poultry, and seafood.
Clean and sanitize the broiler station.
Set up, maintain, and break down the butcher station.
Support and assist the Restaurant Chef in overseeing restaurant and room service kitchen operations.
Guide, support, and inspire associates while helping deliver extraordinary guest experiences.
