About The Position

Fairmont San Francisco is seeking a Station Cook to prepare and serve food for à la carte and buffet menus according to hotel recipes and standards. The role reports to the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef and includes maintaining food quality, minimizing waste, keeping work areas and equipment clean, and following kitchen, safety, and sanitation standards. The hourly rate is $39.47 gross per hour. Applicants must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Requirements

• Three years of previous experience in the culinary field is an asset.
• Possess a Food Handlers Certificate.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
• Highly responsible and reliable.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
• Ability to focus on guest needs while remaining calm and courteous.
• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, friendly, and proactive guest service while supporting fellow colleagues.
• Assist with preparing and serving food for à la carte and buffet menus according to hotel recipes and standards.
• Share ideas, opinions, and suggestions during daily shift briefings.
• Rotate products in chillers to minimize waste and spoilage.
• Ensure storeroom requisitions are accurate.
• Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of work areas, utensils, and equipment.
• Maintain full knowledge of menu items, daily features, and promotions.
• Follow kitchen policies, procedures, and service standards.
• Follow safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
