About The Position

Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur is a long-term care residence serving Sisters in a faith-based environment. The State Tested Nursing Assistant provides personalized, high-quality care and helps residents feel valued, supported, and comfortable. The facility has 80 beds and offers lower Sister-to-staff ratios to support attentive, relationship-centered care.

This is a full-time, second-shift position with bi-weekly schedules from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., for either 32 or 40 hours per week. The listed schedules are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, or Monday, Thursday, and Friday. The role is considered essential, and employees must report to work during severe weather.

Requirements

• Valid State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification.
• Prior experience in a healthcare setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and respectful attitude.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.

Nice To Haves

• Long-term care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Sisters with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
• Monitor and record vital signs and intake/output, and report changes to nursing staff.
• Provide emotional support and companionship.
• Assist with feeding and hydration as needed.
• Transport Sisters to appointments and activities.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment and follow infection-control protocols.
• Support nursing staff with clinical tasks and documentation.
• Follow care plans and ensure Sisters' comfort and safety.
• Provide care to Sisters at end stage of life.
• Chart in PointClickCare (PCC).
• Report to work during severe weather as an essential worker.
