About The Position

This position serves as the Human Resources Regional Manager, with overall responsibility for planning and directing the region’s Human Resources services. The manager supervises the Human Resources Offices serving the Central Office, Field Operations Administration, Thumb Correctional Facility, and Ionia Area Correctional Facilities, as well as the Health Care Hiring Unit.

The Regional Manager reports directly to the Human Resources Director and is expected to maintain communication and cooperation with Central Office and Field Operations Administration administrators. The position is also responsible for statewide classification and selection activities within the Department of Corrections and serves as the liaison with the Civil Service Commission on classification and selection matters.

Requirements

• Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
• Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
• Alternatively, education typically acquired through completion of high school and two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level, or one year of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.
