Seasonal Starbucks Barista, Green Acres
About The Position
The Barista sells and prepares Starbucks coffee beverages according to Starbucks standards, providing caring hospitality and exceptional customer service through product knowledge. The role involves working across coffee, cold beverage, espresso, and pastry stations; preparing and presenting products according to Starbucks recipes and speed-of-service standards; maintaining product stock, displays, equipment, and work areas; and following company, Starbucks, and Health Department standards. The Barista also supports station duties, opening and closing procedures, and an environment of acceptance and respect for colleagues, customers, and communities. The position requires flexibility to work retail hours, including day, evening, weekend, and/or holiday shifts. Macy’s notes that schedules depend on business needs and colleague availability, and that all schedules include weekend shifts. The posting is identified as seasonal.
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret instructional documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including day, evening, weekend, and/or holiday hours.
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods; reach, crouch, kneel, and stoop; frequently use computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and a cash register; process register transactions; and frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities
- Demonstrate current and working knowledge of drip coffee, cold beverage, espresso bar, and pastry stations.
- Follow company standards and maintain the work area and equipment in accordance with Health Department standards.
- Follow Starbucks Simple Service Steps and Magic Selling skills to provide an exceptional customer experience.
- Educate, sample, and serve customers food and beverage products.
- Perform station-specific duties and responsibilities.
- Open and/or close the area using the appropriate checklist and verify completion with the Manager on Duty before leaving.
- Maintain PAR stock levels and product presentation standards.
- Prepare and present products according to Starbucks recipes while meeting speed-of-service standards.
- Follow Starbucks merchandising and signing standards.
- Maintain personal hygiene and professional dress in accordance with company, Starbucks, and Health Department standards.
- Perform other duties as needed.
