Seasonal Starbucks Barista, Perimeter Mall
About The Position
The Barista sells and prepares Starbucks coffee beverages according to Starbucks standards, providing caring hospitality and exceptional customer service through product knowledge. The role includes working across coffee, beverage, espresso, and pastry stations; preparing products to Starbucks recipes and speed-of-service standards; maintaining stations, equipment, stock, and product presentation; and following food safety, hygiene, merchandising, and customer-service standards. This is a seasonal position at Perimeter Mall. Schedules include weekend shifts, and hours depend on business needs and colleague availability.
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret instructional documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Ability to perform prolonged standing and walking, with reaching, crouching, kneeling, and stooping as needed.
- Ability to use computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash registers, and process register transactions.
- Ability to frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- 1–2 years of related experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate current working knowledge of drip coffee, cold beverage, espresso bar, and pastry stations.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in accordance with company standards and Health Department standards.
- Follow Starbucks Simple Service Steps and Magic Selling skills to provide an exceptional customer experience.
- Educate, sample, and serve customers food and beverage products.
- Carry out station-specific duties and responsibilities.
- Open and/or close the area using the appropriate checklist and verify completion with the Manager on Duty before leaving.
- Maintain PAR stock levels and product presentation standards.
- Prepare and present products according to Starbucks recipes while meeting speed-of-service standards.
- Follow Starbucks merchandising and signing standards.
- Maintain personal hygiene and professional dress in compliance with company, Starbucks, and Health Department standards.
- Foster acceptance and respect and build authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
- Perform other duties as needed.
