About The Position

The Barista sells and prepares Starbucks coffee beverages in accordance with Starbucks standards, providing caring hospitality and exceptional customer service through product knowledge. The role involves working across beverage and pastry stations, preparing products to Starbucks recipes and speed-of-service standards, maintaining presentation and stock levels, and following company, Starbucks, and Health Department requirements. Schedules depend on business needs and colleague availability and include weekend shifts.

Requirements

Ability to read and interpret instructional documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, with reaching, crouching, kneeling, and stooping as needed.
Ability to use computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash registers, and process register transactions.
Ability to frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

1–2 years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain working knowledge of drip coffee, cold beverages, the espresso bar, and pastry stations.
Maintain the work area and equipment in accordance with company standards and Health Department standards.
Follow Starbucks Simple Service Steps and Magic Selling skills to provide an exceptional customer experience.
Educate customers about, sample, and serve food and beverage products.
Perform station-specific duties and responsibilities.
Open and/or close the area using the appropriate checklist and verify completion with the Manager on Duty before leaving.
Maintain PAR stock levels and product presentation standards.
Prepare and present products according to Starbucks recipes while meeting speed-of-service standards.
Follow Starbucks merchandising and signing standards.
Maintain personal hygiene and professional dress in accordance with company, Starbucks, and Health Department standards.
Perform other duties as needed.
Foster acceptance and respect and strengthen relationships with colleagues, customers, and communities.
