Seasonal Starbucks Barista, Kenwood Towne Center
About The Position
The Barista sells and prepares Starbucks coffee beverages according to Starbucks standards, providing caring hospitality and exceptional customer service through product knowledge. The role involves working across beverage and pastry stations, preparing products to Starbucks recipes and service-speed standards, and maintaining food-safety, merchandising, cleanliness, and presentation standards. The Barista may open or close the area and complete other duties as needed. The position requires a flexible retail schedule that may include day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts. It is a seasonal position at Kenwood Towne Center.
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret instructional documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including day, evening, weekend, and/or holiday hours.
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, reach, crouch, kneel, and stoop, and frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds.
- Frequently use computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash registers, and process register transactions.
Nice To Haves
- 1–2 years of related experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate current working knowledge of drip coffee, cold beverage, espresso bar, and pastry stations.
- Follow company standards and maintain the work area and equipment in accordance with Health Department standards.
- Follow Starbucks Simple Service Steps and Magic Selling skills to provide an exceptional customer experience.
- Educate, sample, and serve customers food and beverage products.
- Follow station-specific duties and responsibilities.
- Open and/or close the area using the appropriate checklist and verify completion with the Manager on Duty before leaving.
- Maintain PAR stock levels and standards in product presentations.
- Prepare and present fresh products according to Starbucks recipes while meeting speed-of-service standards.
- Follow Starbucks merchandising and signing standards.
- Maintain personal hygiene and professional dress in accordance with company, Starbucks, and Health Department standards.
- Perform other duties as needed.
