About The Position

The Starbucks Barista prepares coffee, tea, and other beverages to customer specifications, takes orders, and operates cash registers and credit card machines. The role provides attentive customer service while maintaining product quality, cleanliness, and compliance with Starbucks and hotel procedures. Baristas work in the Casa Monica Resort and Spa, Autograph Collection, in St. Augustine, Florida.

Requirements

Ability to stand for the entire shift.
Ability to perform constant reaching, turning, and precision work.
Ability to occasionally push, pull, lift, or carry up to 40 pounds.
Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor.
Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with associates and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
Effectively listen to, understand, and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests.
Ability to multitask and prioritize to provide outstanding service.
Maintain regular attendance according to hotel standards and scheduling needs.
Must be available to work some weekends.

Responsibilities

Remain calm during high-volume periods or unusual events and set a positive example for the shift team.
Anticipate customer and store needs by evaluating the environment and customer cues.
Communicate information to the manager so the team can respond and create a warm, welcoming environment.
Assist with training new partners by reinforcing successful performance and providing respectful, encouraging coaching.
Deliver outstanding customer service, connect with customers, and discover and respond to their needs.
Follow Starbucks and property operational policies and procedures, including cash-handling, safety, and security procedures.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
Prepare quality beverages, whole bean products, and food consistently according to recipe and presentation standards.
Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
Attend hotel-required meetings and training.
Maintain high standards of personal appearance, uniform, and grooming.
Maximize productivity, identify problem areas, and assist in implementing solutions.
Perform other duties as requested by management.
