About The Position

This role is responsible for preparing coffee shop beverages and food, operating the cash register, and receiving payment in a timely and efficient manner while providing courteous customer service. The position may also be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs, and additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

Good verbal communication skills and the ability to interact politely and effectively with customers.
Good customer service and organizational skills; detail-oriented.
Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
One year of retail or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare coffee shop beverages by brewing, mixing, or blending them according to set standards.
Prepare food items according to procedures.
Handle food and beverages safely and according to established guidelines, and maintain a clean work environment.
Operate the cash register to itemize purchases and process payments, including cash, checks, credit cards, gift certificates, and coupons.
Stock items and rotate coffee items and merchandise displays.
Maintain an understanding of current store programs and product locations.
Understand and efficiently operate check-stand and coffee shop equipment.
Notify the department lead or manager when products or supplies need to be ordered.
Follow company policies for security, cash handling and cash-drawer accounting, and handling damaged or spoiled products.
Maintain a clean, well-stocked department that meets company safety and sanitation procedures and standards.
Communicate company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers, and model high standards of customer service.
Follow PPE and safety guidelines, food safety and cleaning expectations, and guest experience guidelines.
Perform tasks in other departments as assigned to meet customer experience needs.
Take on additional responsibilities as needed.
