About The Position

This internship is with Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC), a global leader in aerospace innovation headquartered in Longueuil, Quebec. P&WC designs and manufactures next-generation aircraft engines for business, general aviation, and regional aircraft and helicopters. For nearly 100 years, their teams have been at the forefront of propulsion technology, focusing on making flight more efficient and reliable. Their engines support critical missions worldwide, including passenger and cargo transport, emergency medical services, humanitarian operations, and wildfire suppression. The internship will take place at their Longueuil facility from August 31st to December 18th, 2026, with flexible hours and an on-site work requirement. The intern will analyze engine data from test benches or in-service using various computer tools, with the opportunity to enhance knowledge in thermodynamics, aerodynamics, and programming.

Requirements

  • Be eligible to work in Canada
  • Be enrolled in a Canadian university throughout your internship
  • Be able to work on-site in the province where you are hired
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, 3rd year completed minimum
  • Knowledge of English - functional level required
  • Excellent knowledge of thermodynamics and aerodynamics
  • The selected candidate will be required to complete a criminal background check and any applicable clearances with respect to the handling and transfer of controlled goods.

Nice To Haves

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of programming: Python, C++, Matlab, Fortran, or VBA

Responsibilities

  • Modify data reduction tools and assumptions
  • Develop python tools to facilitate the review of test data and ensure their validity
  • Review data and compare them with analytical predictions obtained using thermodynamic engine models
  • Present the results and publish them in a memo for internal distribution
  • Analyze engine data on the test bench or in service with various computer tools
  • Interact with other team members to perform predictive analyses, support engine tests, reduce collected data, analyze it, and present it to the team
