About The Position

The Stage Crew is responsible for technical aspects of theater operations, including lighting, sound, and backstage duties. The Stage Crew Sponsor will provide guidance, direction, and/or supervision to students assigned to the stage crew, maintaining knowledge of current technology involved in stage operations and educating crew members about it. This role aligns with the district's mission by allowing students who prefer working behind the scenes to gain confidence and empathy while operating necessary equipment for artistic productions.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of stage equipment, curtains, lighting, and sound system
• Ability to monitor, supervise, and educate students regarding stage management
• Strong organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Train students on the operation of backstage equipment, lighting, and sound equipment
• Assign students to productions that take place in the theater
• Supervise students who operate equipment during productions that take place in the theater
• In cooperation with Director of Maintenance, provide stage crew services to organizations that use the theater for productions
• Submit a year-end report outlining the activities that were successfully completed by the stage crew
