About The Position

This club will present students interested in world issues with opportunities that have a global focus. Possible events may include opportunities presented through the World Affairs Council, Cultural Communications Alliance, University of Pittsburgh’s University Center for International Studies, and other community organizations. Students will participate in events as interested. The goal is to provide student access to the many different enrichment opportunities available to increase awareness of global issues. This EPR aligns with the District’s mission statement by “fostering the skills to be confident, ethical, empathetic, and globally responsible citizens”.

Requirements

  • Willingness to accompany students to events during school, after school hours, and on weekends, if needed
  • Knowledge of protocol and requirements of global events and competitions
  • Organization skills to plan and coordinate arrangements for events
  • Communication skills to present many different opportunities to students

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate participation in activities with a global focus for students
  • Prepare students for competitions/simulations, such as Model EU, Model African Union, International Marketing Simulation, International Moot Camp and International Moot Court should they choose to participate
  • Accompany students to speaker events and seminars as they become available
  • Serve as a liaison between the community organizations and students
