About The Position

Kingwood Pines Hospital is a 116-bed facility in the Kingwood community, about 30 miles northeast of the Houston Medical Center. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services for children, adolescents, and adults receiving psychiatric and behavioral health care, as well as intensive outpatient and partial hospital program services. The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for staffing the facility and tracking staffing needs and variances. The role provides tracking and reporting on matters including overtime, productivity, tardiness, per diem requirements, early departures, and call-out requirements, and coordinates relevant reports with the direct supervisor and Human Resources as needed for corrective action, coaching, and education. The coordinator works with nurse managers, supervisors, and units to monitor acuity and ongoing needs, develop effective staffing processes and data sharing, and forecast and plan for nursing department staffing and succession.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least two years of healthcare scheduling experience in a clinical setting or role, or in an administrative function.

Responsibilities

Track and report incremental overtime, overtime, productivity, tardiness, per diem requirements, early departures, and call-out requirements; coordinate reports with the direct supervisor and Human Resources as necessary for corrective action, coaching, and education.
Staff the facility and track staffing, including 1:1 staffing and variances as needed.
Work with nurse managers, supervisors, and units to monitor acuity and ongoing needs and make necessary staffing changes.
Develop relationships with supervisors to support staffing processes, reporting, and data provision, including sharing current information about needs, barriers, variance approvals, staffing, and unit concerns.
Forecast and plan for nursing department staffing and succession.
