Staff RN-Freestanding Emergency Department
About The Position
Provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse, acute health care settings. The department has scheduled staff to operate 24/7/365. The RN is accountable for nursing practice as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing and delegates nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel using the criteria in the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. According to department policies and nursing care standards, the RN provides professional nursing care to patients and is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for assigned patients. The position requires focus on safety, quality, and efficiency as part of a High Reliability Organization. Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio and/or a current Registered Nurse license in good standing with a multi-state compact state.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required at 5 years of employment.
Responsibilities
- Perform initial, ongoing, and functional health-status assessments appropriate to the population or individual.
- Document planned nursing interventions based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems to achieve outcomes appropriate to patient needs.
- Evaluate and document responses to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes at appropriate intervals.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to revise plans of care based on evaluative data.
- Participate in process-improvement activities to achieve targeted clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance measures.
- Delegate nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel in accordance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
- Focus on safety, quality, and efficiency when performing job duties.
