About The Position

The Staff RN provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse, acute health care settings. The primary location is Ashland Freestanding Emergency Department, with potential to float to sister sites in Ontario, Mansfield, or Shelby as needed. The department operates 24/7/365. The RN is accountable for nursing practice as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing and delegates nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel according to the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. In accordance with department policies and nursing care standards, the RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for assigned patients. The role requires attention to safety, quality, and efficiency as part of a High Reliability Organization.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of emergency department experience.
Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio or a current Registered Nurse license in good standing with a multistate compact state.
BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
Associate's degree.
BSN required at 5 years of employment.

Responsibilities

Perform initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessments as applicable to the patient population or individual.
Document planned nursing interventions based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems to achieve outcomes appropriate to patient needs.
Evaluate and document responses to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes at appropriate intervals; revise the plan of care based on evaluation data as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Participate in process improvement activities to achieve targeted measures of clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
Perform operations responsibilities.
Delegate nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel in accordance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
Provide professional nursing care according to department policies and nursing care standards, with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
