Staff Product Manager, Network Observability

NetBox Labs
•$205,000 - $220,000

About The Position

NetBox Labs is seeking a Staff Product Manager to own its Network Observability features and products. Reporting to the Director of Product, this person will take products from definition through general availability and beyond, partnering with Engineering, Customer Success, and go-to-market teams to build products network operators rely on to understand network behavior. The role calls for deep knowledge of protocols, telemetry data, and production edge cases, alongside the ability to prototype, collaborate effectively with engineers, and translate technical depth into clear customer and business value. The Product Manager will own observability products across Cloud and Enterprise deployments, shape and sequence the roadmap, and work across Discovery and Assurance teams to create coherent platform offerings. They will engage customers and prospects in discovery, technical pre-sales, and design partner programs, while equipping go-to-market teams with positioning, demos, and technical enablement. They will also define observability success metrics and use them to inform roadmap decisions.

Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of product management leadership in B2B software, including 3+ years on technically complex products such as networking and infrastructure, observability, security, or developer platforms.
  • Product experience in network observability, monitoring, or telemetry.
  • Fluency with observability technologies, including SNMP, streaming telemetry (gNMI), flow data (NetFlow, sFlow, IPFIX), and OpenTelemetry, and an understanding of their strengths and limitations.
  • Comfort working in a codebase, scripting against APIs, standing up prototypes, reading pull requests, and collaborating with engineers.
  • Ability to communicate technical detail as business value, both in writing and verbally, to audiences ranging from engineers to executives.
  • A strong track record of owning products across the full lifecycle and the autonomy to run a product line.
  • Strong cross-functional influence and ability to drive alignment across engineering, customer success, and go-to-market teams.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and building structure where none exists.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with open source products and communities.
  • Familiarity with network automation or source-of-truth tooling.
  • Experience shipping products delivered both on-premises and as SaaS.
  • Exposure to device discovery or inventory ingestion pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Own NetBox Labs Observability features and products, turning product strategy into a scoped, sequenced roadmap and driving products from definition through GA and iteration across Cloud and Enterprise deployments.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in network observability and how telemetry is collected, modelled, and used by operators to detect, troubleshoot, and resolve production network problems.
  • Translate technical capabilities into business value for customers, sales, customer success, and leadership.
  • Equip go-to-market teams with product positioning, demos, and technical enablement.
  • Prototype to answer product questions quickly and validate ideas with engineering and customers.
  • Engage directly with customers and prospects in discovery, technical pre-sales conversations, and design partner programs.
  • Partner with Discovery and Assurance teams to ensure the offerings fit together as a coherent platform.
  • Define and own Observability success metrics and use them to drive roadmap decisions.
