About The Position

DigitalOcean is hiring a Staff Product Designer to own the console experience end to end, from navigation and cross-product patterns to the broader information architecture. The designer will work from a product-team vantage point while creating reusable frameworks, patterns, and guidance that teams across the console can rely on, ensuring the console functions as a coherent system for customers provisioning, managing, and scaling infrastructure. The role includes treating the design system as a product: owning its component library, patterns, visual and interaction standards, and roadmap in partnership with engineering. The designer will set and maintain the craft and quality bar across the product suite, establish a review process, develop high-leverage reusable patterns, and own high-visibility shared surfaces such as navigation, onboarding, the app shell, and landing pages. They will partner with engineering to ensure designs are implemented as intended and help develop UI engineers’ design skills through a design guild, reviews, and pairing. The successful candidate will help make simplicity and strong user experience a point of differentiation, support design investment with evidence, and own the creative vision for the console. This is a remote role. Compensation is $192,800–$241,000, with possible performance-based bonuses and equity compensation for eligible employees.
