Staff Product Designer

Nooks•San Francisco, CA
•$226,000 - $302,000•Onsite

About The Position

Nooks is an applied AI lab building an Agent Workspace for go-to-market teams. Its AI agents support sales work ranging from account strategy to prospect research and outreach. More than 2,000 customers use Nooks, and the company reports raising over $70 million and at least tripling ARR each year for three years. Nooks is hiring a Staff Product Designer to unify its AI Dialer, AI Prospecting, AI Sequencing, and Agent Studio into one workspace and define how people and teams of agents work together. This is an individual-contributor role working closely with the head of design. The designer will set the workspace's design direction, define interaction models and information architecture, and build interfaces that help sales representatives review, correct, and trust agent work. The role involves taking customer problems through to production, prototyping and building with real model output, shipping front-end changes alongside engineers, and iterating against agreed success metrics. The designer will work directly with customers, including joining calls and observing sales representatives during dial sessions. They will also partner with the head of design to evolve the design system, lead challenging critiques, raise the craft of other designers, and support hiring as the team grows. The role is based in San Francisco, with an expectation of being in the office at least three days per week.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of product design experience, including experience leading design for a meaningful product area, working as a founding designer, or serving as a go-to designer for others.
  • A portfolio of shipped work on complex, high-frequency tools used for hours a day, such as B2B workflow, productivity, developer, or professional tools.
  • Experience shipping AI-powered features and designing for non-deterministic output, latency, and errors.
  • Experience working with engineers on prompts or evaluations to improve AI experiences.
  • Systems-thinking ability and strong design judgment, with the ability to work across platform architecture and fine interaction details.
  • Ability to prototype and ship front-end work regularly using tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex.
  • Comfort working in a production React/TypeScript codebase.
  • Willingness to speak with customers to validate design work.
  • Based in San Francisco and excited to work in-office at least three days per week.

Nice To Haves

  • Sales domain experience.

Responsibilities

  • Set the design direction for the Agent Workspace, defining the interaction model, information architecture, and core patterns that unify product lines.
  • Design the human-agent collaboration loop, including when agents act independently, request approval, or hand work back to a person.
  • Turn AI model capabilities and failure modes into interfaces that sales representatives can use throughout the day.
  • Take customer problems from discovery through production, prototyping and building with real model output and shipping front-end changes alongside engineers.
  • Agree on success metrics with the product manager and iterate until those metrics improve.
  • Work directly with customers by joining calls, observing sales representatives during dial sessions, and reviewing how teams use shipped features.
  • Partner with the head of design to evolve the design system, lead challenging design critiques, raise design craft across the team, and help with hiring.

Benefits

  • Equity.
  • Opportunity to work with a world-class team of designers and engineers, including people with backgrounds at Applied Intuition, Scale, Uber, Citadel, and Jane Street.
  • Opportunity to help shape a product and define how sales work will be conducted as agents take on more of the work.
