About The Position

TeamHealth is hiring emergency medicine physicians for the new St. David's Emergency Center in Kyle, Texas, a freestanding emergency department under construction and targeting an opening on February 1, 2027, pending construction. The 13,000-square-foot facility will have 12 exam rooms and is projected to see approximately 12,000 annual visits, or about 33 visits per day. It is affiliated with St. David's South Austin Medical Center, a Level II Trauma Center.

Physician coverage will be provided 24 hours a day in two 12-hour shifts. On-site diagnostics will include CT, X-ray, ultrasound, and lab services. Specialty backup will be available through South Austin Medical Center, including cardiology, neurology/stroke, general surgery, orthopedics, OB/GYN, critical care, and Level II trauma services. Advanced practice clinician coverage may be added as volume grows. The position is W-2, with full-time and part-time opportunities. Full-time employment is 120 hours per month, or 10 shifts. Compensation includes a competitive base and RVU compensation; night and holiday differentials are offered. Physicians may also pick up shifts at other St. David's emergency departments.

Full-time physicians are offered health insurance and a sign-on bonus. Professional liability insurance and tail coverage are provided. Additional resources include leadership training, mentorship, professional development, educational resources, and CME through the TeamHealth Institute. Physicians can also participate in TeamHealth's National Medical Leadership Conference and practice as members of TeamHealth's national Patient Safety Organization. There is no non-compete clause.

Requirements

• ABEM board certification or eligibility is preferred.
• Family medicine or med-peds board-certified physicians may be considered with at least 5 years of emergency department experience or an emergency medicine fellowship.
• Current ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications.
• Texas medical license or ability to obtain one.
